Now itís time do some serious riding.  Fran-Gellan is slated for June 25th out of Long Point Park.  I just called Long Point Park and they have camping sites available, for the 24th, 25th, and 26th.   There are several folks that have made plans on camping the weekend.  If there is enough interest we will do a Clam Bake as well.   If you are planning on camping you may want to call and make a reservation, if you do,  try to get as close to site number 66.    (321-) 952-4532 http://www.campingspacecoast.com/longpoint/index.php  If any of our orlando and Tampa friends want to join please do.  The more the better.
For those that do not know the Fran-Gellan ride starts out of Sebastian Inlet and we go out on the ocean to ride.  Depending on the weather we can ride north to Port Canaveral and go thru the locks and back down the Inter-coastal to Sebastian.  Or we can ride south to Fort Pierce and then come back up the Inter-coastal to Sebastian.  We have done both North and South runs and it depends on the winds and how strong they are blowing on which way we go.  If the seas are too rough we can just ride south on the Inter-coastal.  Total mileage both ways is 90 Ė 100 miles.  There is gas available both ways and we do make stops and we also do a lunch break. We have seen all sorts of Marine life, porpoise, sea cows, gators, sharks, turtles, sea rays, manta rays and numerous other fish species.

The Clam Bake is a big pot that is full of chicken, potatoes, sausages, corn, shrimp and clams and it all gets steamed together.  Lots of great food and friends to hang out with.

Please let Fran know if you will be riding, or camping or interested in the clam bake.  It takes some planning to get this stuff organized so please respond with your intentions if youíre interested.

From the response at last nights monthly meeting only 4 members are camping at Long Point and by a show of hands only 7 members are riding on Saturday.  At the present time the weather could turn against us if we stay on the water beyond 1:00PM Saturday.
