Meeting Minutes - May '06 Tuesday, May 09, 2006
OLD BUSINESS: The trifold flyer is ready for press, the club has sold $850.00 in advertising on the flyer which means we can print 1000 for $653,00 or 2000 for $711.00. go with the 2000 copie option and still retain $139.00 for the club. NEW BUSINESS: We discussed the upcoming picnic in the planning stage which will be held at the suntree rotary park in melbourne, just south of chowders and north of the pineda boat ramp. It will be held on JJuly 8th, 2006. There will be a rally for fun and prizes. PRESIDENT REPORT: Curt reminded all members to support the club by attending events when you can and wear your club shirts and hats. V.P. REPORT: John Wilansky was on hand to go over special events coming up , rally series, lovers key, Jensen beach, Suwannee river, Amelia Island, and he gave a brief synopsis of the daytona ride the club just had. TREASURER REPORT: John Kerekes circulated the latest treasury report for all to inspect and announced that we have $1846.00 on hand. He also told us that membership is going up, he is collecting new dues from new and returning members with a few dropping out too. EVENT COORDINATOR: Fran Miron was present and discussed the upcoming events: River Ranch , Daytona, camp Armo, etc. Fran reserved the pavillion for the picnic at the rotary park and reminded all that you can come by boat, ski or car but you can not bring a trailer to the park or launch there. WEBMASTER: Sherri Shields was not able to attend but her husband John and 2 boys were present. Someone asked if john could have sherri investigate the idea of having a counter on the website to monitor how many visits we get. SECRETARY REPORT: Tom Wilson ( myself ) was present and circulated a couple copies of the minutes from last month's meeting ,for approval. I also reported about our latest club cleanup with several of us showing up and riding afterwards. GUEST SPEAKERS: No guest speakers present but a long time member, Danny Oliver, spoke of the lake washington dam that has been in the news lately and why the trail around in was created when the original design to go over the dam failed. It now has been boarded up to keep the water in the lake from getting dangerously low again. Member spotlight: none 50/50 drawing: winner - John Wilanski, bought a new ski, needs the money ADJOURNMENT: Meeting was adjourned at 7:52pm. President Curt Smith thanked all who attended and reminded all to encourage other members to attend future meetings.
