Saturday, September 15th dawned bright
and beautiful, (this is Florida after all) and
the Indian River was mirror smooth as TOM
WILSON and CURT SMITH pulled away from
Front Street Park at 8am. Keep Brevard
Beautiful assigned SCJR with cleaning up
two spoil islands in the river as part of the FPL
sponsored Coastal Clean Up. 5 big bags of
junk were picked up at the first island including
a shopping cart. The second island was much
cleaner and only one bag of trash was there.
JOHN YUST, a KBB volunteer aboard his boat
WHITE PELICAN, came by and carried the trash
away and took it to the accumulation site at Jorgenson
Landing in Grant. CURT and TOM followed him
there and they signed in and got their free T shirts
commemorating the day. So thanks to the two of them
for doing our civic duty and supporting SCJR and help-
ing to keep the Indian River a clean and fun place to
ride.
