Jensen Beach Trip

Ahoy there fellow clubbers!!!....The Jensen Beach ride took place this past weekend and it was another home run for SCJR!!!...Friday morning we had a shaky start with a couple of skis having mechanical problems but we finally managed to get underway...We headed south and wound up waiting for a couple members at the sandbar by Sebastian Inlet...once united, we stayed on the ICW the entire trip as the ocean was kicking up...By early afternoon the wind had picked up substantially and we experienced some whitecap chop!...Nothing we couldn't handle though and when we finally pulled up to Conchy Joe's for lunch, there was a definite sense of accomplishment!!....We dined on some good fare and proceeded to Caribbean Shores where we met up with fellow clubbers who had trailed their skis down...We chilled the rest of the afternoon and at dinner time headed into town to one of my favorite restaurants... Crawdaddys!!!...There we were 14 for dinner and feasted on some of the finest New Orleans style food you'll ever taste!!!...After 2 1/2 hours of eating, we called it a night!.........Saturday, we went back into town for some yummy breakfast at Jan's and then mounted for our ride!... By then Ken and Q had caught up with us and we headed south around Sewalls Point and made our way into the St Lucie River...The scenery was extraordinary with the river being lined by multi-million dollar mansions with docks berthing equally expensive yachts!!!....The river narrowed and became less and less populated as we followed the it some 20 miles north. It began to twist and wind through the mangroves and we finally came upon a park with a beach and hung out for awhile!!...We then headed back, beaching our skis across the street from downtown Jensen Beach and had lunch at Mulligan's!...After lunch, some folks elected to do some more riding south and others called it a day...This rides "Squirrel Hunting Award" is shared by Paul and Doug!!!...I'll refrain from further comment......Saturday night it was back to Crawdaddys for most, to stuff whatever room was left in our stomachs!!...Sunday morning we awoke to another beautiful day and said goodbye to Caribbean Shores as six of us headed home after breakfast...Others feeling a little worn out opted to trail home instead and I remember thinking "I need to start hanging around with younger people!...Oh, wait a minute...they are!!!"......We made it from Jensen Beach to Sebastian Inlet in an hour and twenty minutes!!...Great ride!!!...From there we split up, I stayed to go play in the ocean, some went to Squid Lips for lunch and Ken, who traveled the farthest...by far...coming all the way from Crystal River (YAY Ken!!) headed home...It was really a terrific weekend and if you missed, keep it mind for next time!!!
