Howdy fellow Clubbers to a brand New Year!!!!!   We have at least one new officer; GARY ANDERSON has stepped up and volunteered his time to be our new Treasurer.  SHARON YOST as VP and KITT KANE as Secretary, have both agreed to re-up and serve another term.  And yours truly will again serve as President.  Entering the New Year it appears from our membership list that we have somewhere near or beyond 90 members.  You all can give yourselves a pat on the back for the success of your club.  Most other AWA clubs that have anywhere near our membership numbers don't have dues, meetings, or official duties of any sort.  You are a member of one of the most active and energetic and I would say influential AWA groups in the country. 2010 will dawn with our first event being our monthly cleanup/ride on Saturday January 2nd, weather permitting and from here, it looks like a 38 degree low and a 63 degree high won't be real conducive to either.  So, as in December, we'll just wait and see.  We had so many postponements in December, ALICIA "THE FANNONATOR" FANNON, took it upon herself to do the clean up at SCJR park on her own.  Kudos to Miss Alicia!!  Next up is SHARON'S annual Holiday Bash, this year scheduled for January 9th at her place.  She has emailed everyone with details already but I'm sure she'll follow up with at least one more to get some kind of head count.  I would encourage each of you to make every effort to attend. With many new members and some older members that are not so active, we have a great opportunity with the HOLIDAY BASH to meet and get together in a casual setting and get to know each other a little better.  When we ride we don't get to spend much time together or rub shoulders and really get to know fellow clubbers.  You might be missing a real chance to find a new friend or three.  Since we all have a love for the outdoors and jet skiing in common, it is only natural for us to want to spend some time hanging out.  And don't forget your dues go toward paying for part of the grub that we'll be having.  Hope to see ya there!  On the 16th we are trying to get a couple of folks together to do an exploratory ride on the Kissimmee River.  We have to find out what the water levels will be and if and how many locks are open.  We'll leave Melbourne at 6:30 am and head south to Route 60 to the Kissimmee.  I know, having fun on the water is a tough job but someone has to do it.  We'll keep you posted for a possible future club ride on the Kissimmee. Then of course, we'll have our meeting on January 19th to elect our officers and look toward our many events scheduled for the year especially our signature events like the RIVER RALLY to raise money for CANDLELIGHTERS, "...cause kids can't fight cancer alone."  We raised over $6,000 for the kids and their families last year.  This year our RALLY will correspond with a big Brevard County event highlighting boating in May.  Another one of our biggies is a trailer ride to AMELIA ISLAND where we spend a weekend in North Florida and then our best pure PWC ride, the 70 mile trek down the Indian River Lagoon to JENSEN BEACH in August.  So stay tuned to another active, fun filled and adventurous year as a SCJR Clubber.  In between all of the big events we try to ride twice a month somewhere somehow in the warmer months and once a month in the brrrr frigid months of December, January, February and March.  Given that our average January high is 72 and the low 54, our northern brethren can only wish they had to endure such hardships.  So welcome to a new and exciting year.  Remember to RIDE SAFE, RIDE SMART-Capt Curt.
